Why? Because the competition will have lower ethical standard than you have and will use anything they can.

You do have the better arguments. Size up your persuasion target and see if emotional arguments or psychological tricks would work for them too. If so, then use them. At no point are you deceiving. You are simply appealing to the human nature, which is gullible as hell.
