Clearly labelling your products

We’ve just bought a small digital camera and it came with two AA batteries. I was wandering if they were rechargeable. The text on them wasn’t really that clear, it said something like “may explode if recharged inserted improperly”, which left me wondering: do they mean “inserted improperly in the charger” or is a comma missing: “may explode if recharged, (comma) inserted improperly”. Finally I managed to find the manufacturer website, which made it clear that these are not rechargeable. Which means that I must take them to a recycling station.

By the way, it is interesting that in English you don’t have two distinct words for batteries and rechargeable batteries. In Romanian and Hungarian for example you have the words baterie/elem for batteries and acumulator/akumulator for rechargeable batteries.
