Sitepoint did a survey amongst web developers and found that people who use PHP are very likely to try Ruby on Rails. While I haven’t completed the survey myself, I find that I’m in this exact same position: I’ve been developing in PHP for several years now and plan to check out Ruby, however I’m reluctant to do anything big in it until I understand the full extent of the magically generated code and the security implications it has.
